Ladybugs for the Twins

Posted by Lisa at 8:47 PM 0 comments
Just wanted to share a picture of my very first Ladybug cakes that I made for a birthday party this past Saturday for two twin girls.  Their Mom had tried very hard to make them and it just wasn't working out.  So two days before their party Dad contacted me and asked if I could make them.  I had so much fun doing these cakes.

Squishy Turns One!

Posted by Lisa at 12:23 PM 0 comments
It's really hard to believe that on last Friday, August 27, 2010, Leah and Jason's little miracle baby "Bristol" turned one.  We all know that the "1st Birthday" is all about the parents and grandparents celebrating that they survived the first year...the sleepless nights, earaches, leaving them at daycare for the first time, the many missed days of work due to illness and the list could go on and on.  It definitely is a milestone and we all cherish it.

Three months ago, Leah asked me to help her with the celebration of Bristol's big day.  After deciding on the theme I went to work on a little inspiration.

Leah fell in love and wanted it all...LOL.  As you can see it wasn't the tradional Red and Black Ladybug, but more of a girly girl Ladybug of hot pinks and lime greens.  Now how much fun is that???  Talk about putting a smile on the face..... Who wouldn't love it?

So first things first - we had to find the perfect outfit for "Little Squishy" (as her mom calls her).   Esty Shops here we come.  We found it!!!  Pink and Green Ladybug Tutu - Perfect!  The invitations another Esty find (SLW Designs).

                                                                    Just adorable!

So to celebrate the day a Sweets Table was designed.  Cupcakes, marshmellow pops, strawberry malt balls, strawberry lemonaide, green apples, pink marshmellows, green apple rings and her very own smash cake.

Bristol may never remember anything about that day but with all that camera snapping she will have pictures to look back on and know that Mom and Dad were very proud.  Thank you Leah and Jason for letting me be a part of your little girl's Big Day!  Raegan, thank you for being such a "Good Helper".  I truly enjoyed it and May God Bless you both.

Birthday Celebrations!!!!

I'm such a lucky girl....I have two friends who are celebrating their birthday today.  And then at the end of the week, I have another friend celebrating her birthday.

"Leo's are born fortunate.  Charismatic and positive-thinking they attract not only an abundance of friends and opportunities, but manage to survive life's stormy times with style and good humour."

I would definitely say these three ladies are true Leo's....

Happy Birthday Ladies!!!!

Today's Post will be a little something for Shauna's Birthday.....

Happy 4th of July

Posted by Lisa at 8:40 AM 0 comments

It was a great 4th of July at my house.  I had a great time putting together this wonderful table for all my kids and grandkids The weather was great...in other words it wasn't a 100 and something in Texas.  The pool was nice and refreshing and the kids had a blast.  Grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs and ate watermelon along with all the other red, white & blue desserts...  My granddaughter, Hanna just had to taste everything she was so excited..not so sure she had a favorite.  Evelyn loved the jello treats and the adults loved the  blue berries, pudding and strawberries with a shot of whipped cream...

Just a few more shots to share..

No party goes without cupcakes....

Everyone always seems to think that it's really hard to come up with a theme for a little boy, but Tracey Lau didn't have any problems with coming up with a wonderful theme for her little "Jeremiah's 1st Birthday".  Tracey did a wonderful job and all the details are unbelievable.  The dessert table looks absolutely scrumptious.  be sure to checkout all the details here

I also want to give a "Big Thank You" to Tracey for being my first Guest blog post. Thanks Tracey....

Surprise for Lacey

Posted by Lisa at 4:27 PM 0 comments
My daughter, Ashley, came to me on Monday of last week and said "Mom, can you make a cake for Lacey's Birthday, it's this Friday?" So for the next two days I set out and thought about what could we make for Lacey's Birthday. Then I remembered that Lacey was in the process of changing her bedroom and she had picked out Tiffany Blue and Brown as her colors. Lacey fell in love with a chair in my livingroom awhile back that was blue and brown...so off to work I went...

Then after the cake was made, Ashley decided she wanted to make her gifts and talk about a busy week at Cake-tini...We made a necklace holder, fancy letters for her name, earrings, and a beach bag with her name on it and all of it sparking with dazzle...

Here's a picture of Lacey's 19th Birthday cake.

Tulips are in the air

Posted by Lisa at 3:04 PM 0 comments

I know, Memorial Day is coming up this Monday and I should be thinking Red, White and Blue..but today I came across this beautiful cake that was done by The Pink Cake Box for one of their very own employee bridal showers and I so fell in love...Of course, it wouldn't have anything to do with tulips being one of my favorite flowers and just look at those lovely ladybugs....

Living the Dream

Posted by Lisa at 3:34 PM 0 comments
Today is the start of a new dream....I have spent the last 16 years in an IT department in various law firms. And recently I decided that I really wanted to start using the creative side of my brain. So while sitting at my day job I started thinking of new things to do and things that excite me. Creativity....So I went out and took all four (4) courses of Wilton's Cake Decorating classes and got hooked. Well it just started rolling from there. I love to decorate and plan parties so that is how Cake-tini Events came about. So hopefully, I can learn from you and share with you my next venture. Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay...
